We've had the grill plate for about a year now and we've cooked a good assortment of marinaded meats and vegetables on it and it's performed as well as we could expect. We have a couple butane Iwatani and other stoves along side our induction top so an aluminum plate was just fine. The ridges on the base feet line up and set snuggly on the stove plates so the plate is stable while cooking. We've cooked marinaded short ribs, ribeye, shrimp, squid, octopus and various mushrooms and root vegetables on this and never had an issue with sticking or cleaning up after. Just let the marinade or juice cook up and you can peel it off with your chopsticks. The drainage hole is easy enough to deal with placing a small ramequin with a tissue or piece of paper towel into to help absorb and prevent splashing of grease.Otherwise I just hand wash it with some Dawn in the sink and store it in the box until next usage. Overall very happy it and would recommend giving it a try.
KBBQ game changer done at home! Don't let the light weight of the pan fool you. Heat is evenly distributed to crispy the pork belly and cook the egg/kimchi on the outer edge. The hole for drainage is effective and leaves enough grease behind for kimchi fried rice at the end. The bottom of the grill has locks to hold into place on your propane grill, no worries if your meat flipping gets crazy. Overall, very pleased and already recommend this to all the KBBQ crazy friends.UPDATE: Few months now and this pan is AWESOME!!!!! We tried making corn cheese for the side pockets ( cooks evenly ),egg cooks like a soft scramble still and the pork belly cooks very CRISPY! Just the thought of mushy meat and veggies 0_0. The clean up is still very easy with just wiping it down when done. ZERO scratches! It might weight very light but very durable pan!*** UPDATE: Almost one year later and STILL a champ. No rust, scrape marks and still evenly heats the food !
I just got this delivered (in a timely manner - thanks Amz!)I was excited to test out my new toy. This is a very decent size grill. At first it almost seems too wide, as it passed well over where the flames were. The feet have jagged prints so it locks onto the grill without moving around. The oil drip hole was perfectly distanced so to catch all excess oil from the meat through the drip hole into the oil collecting cup.I poured in the omlette mix as shown on the box picture. I poured in the sesame oil with whole garlic pieces to cook & boil to soft edible pieces in the oil. I put in the kimchi as well on the side compartments. After than, I started to cook the meat in the middle. This thing cooked up everything as intended. The heat distributed evenly to cook the omlette perfectly. The garlic boiling in the sesame oil was perfectly soft and ready to eat. The Kimchi was soft and tasted outrageously good. The meat cooked evenly with a nice slight char. The cooking surface had plently of space for a family of 4. Cooked fast enough to take off and eat while slapping on more meat to cook during the interim. This grill really shined for me. Very very impressed. I am ordering another so we can do a friends and family cookout. Love this thing. It is super easy to clean (clean with dishwasher soap and sponge) nothing sticks...all slides off.Only recommendation is to use wooden spoons and chopsticks. DO NOT use metal untensils on this or it will scratch.Other than that...two thumbs up for this grill!!!
When I visited my friend in New York, he took me to a Korean restaurant in Flushing where Koreatown is. Even though I have cooked tabletop Korean BBQ before, it was the first time I saw this sectional Korean grill pan. Its unique and different from other Korean grill pans. I'm happy I found this pan on Amazon (thanks to Amazon). I like the small size of each individual section where you can keep each veggie. The outside partitions don't get as hot as the middle one so your veggies dont get burnt while you are cooking your meat in the middle. The nonstick surface is excellent and still looks brand new after many uses. It can be cleaned very easily and I've not had any burnt residue that couldn't be cleaned with a gentle wipe. With this grill pan, I can have the same Korean BBQ experience at home for less than half the price that a restaurant would charge.
Ordered this for a wedding gift and hopefully to get invited over for Korean BBQ parties! I tested it before gifting because I read some pretty negative reviews but so far nothing "bad." It came new, not used, I washed it, then seasoned it (stove, heat, oil), washed it again, then cooked some fatty pork on it to get more fat on it at heat. The meat and vegetables came out perfectly. Washed it again and did NOT see any black residue or coating come off as some reviews stated (I wonder if that was really the coating or it was the blackened sugars from too much marinade?). I really liked the drain spout feature versus the ones that require water underneath to catch the fat (easier to clean up). Note that the pan is actually a little bit sloped (one side is SLIGHTLY higher) so the fat can drain easier. I used a coffee cup to catch the grease versus a plastic container since it was all hot grease. I tested the side areas and it quickly boiled the sesame oil and garlic cloves so keep an eye out for that (especially if you are going to cook eggs/cheese etc). I didn't measure the temp but didn't see any appreciable difference in temperature between the edges and the main cooking area. I would buy this again.
